  2. Day 2

    Delhi(Overnight Train)

Today, you can do any of the city tours or slum tours that we do. We suggest in the morning visiting Sanjay Colony, a small slum built on 25 acres of land located in the south of Delhi near the Bahai Lotus Temple and the Iskcon temple. Learn about the working and residential life, and witness how despite the challenging living conditions, it remains an area charged with positive energy and a strong community. You will also learn about the NGO programs directly supported by your visit.

In the afternoon, we suggest doing some more traditional sightseeing of your choice such as visiting India Gate, Qutub Minar. Humayun’s tomb, Agrasen ki Baoli, and Gurudwara Bangla Sahib – a Sikh temple and one of the largest community kitchens in India which feeds more than 10,000 people per day. In the night, we will hop onto an overnight train to Bikaner!

  3. Day 3

    Bikaner

We will have an early morning arrival in Bikaner, an old city popular for its forts, palaces, temples, and food, and then transfer to the hotel. After lunch, we will do an orientation tour in Bikaner, including Junagarh Fort.

  4. Day 4

    Bikaner / Jaisalmer

Today we have an early morning drive to Jaisalmer (6 hrs), a small fort-city in the middle of the Thar Desert, nicknamed the “Golden City”. On arrival, you will check in at the guest house and head for an evening camel safari with dinner in the Thar Desert.

  5. Day 5

    Jaisalmer

The next morning, we will head back to the guest house and then have an afternoon tour of the stunning Jaisalmer Fort and markets.

  6. Day 6

    Jaisalmer / Jodhpur

Today we will take an afternoon train to Jodhpur, the “Blue City” and one of the oldest cities of Rajasthan. We will reach Jodhpur by late evening and stay in a 400-year-old Haveli (traditional townhouse), which has been converted into a guesthouse. You can enjoy a traditional Rajasthani Thali (vegetarian set meal with many different dishes) for dinner at a rooftop restaurant with the imposing Mehrangarh Fort in the background.

  7. Day 7

    Jodhpur

In the morning, we will visit Mehrangarh Fort for great views of the blue city below; if you are feeling adventurous, you can go on a zipline tour over the fort! In the afternoon, you have the option of either visiting Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the world’s largest palaces, which is partly converted into a hotel and palace museum, or Jaswant Thada, a beautiful memorial made of marble and often described as the Taj Mahal of Marwar. In the evening, you can go for a walk among the busy markets if you have the energy!

We will arrive in Agra in the afternoon, where we’ll check into a hotel; afterwards we’ll explore Mehtab Bagh, a small 22-acre Persian-style garden located next to the Yamuna river, offering a very unique view of the Taj Mahal. Later, we’ll visit the massive Agra Fort, built with red sandstone. Head back to the hotel in the evening after dinner. If you are not tired, have a drink on the hotel’s rooftop overlooking the Taj!

  11. Day 11

    Agra

Today we’ll wake up early to see the Taj Mahal at sunrise- the best time to visit. We come back to our guest house to have a late breakfast and then check out and drive to Delhi.

On the way, we will stop at a small village where you will get an understanding of how the majority of India’s population lives with their unique traditions and customs, and visit one of our Rural Community Projects to see how you support this by taking our tour.
